In this video, I give you a tip to teach your dog to drop a ball so you can play fetch with them. In the video, I am working with a 10 month old German Shepherd Dog. There are several ways to train your dog to drop the ball and this is just one method that I will often use. The process works by using two identical balls. You toss one ball for the dog. When the dog returns, they often will not drop the ball for you. To remedy this, you can show them another ball and tease them with it by moving it around. Once the dog drops the ball, you will toss the one you are holding. Eventually you will be able to fade the second ball out of the process.
